The Econometric Society is pleased to announce that the 2026 Asian Summer School in Econometrics and Statistics of the Econometric Society will be held at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, July 13-19, 2026.

The Summer School was established in 2005 at Xiamen University, China. In 2019, the Econometric Society officially recognized the program as the “Asian Summer School in Econometrics and Statistics,” in acknowledgment of its significant contributions to the training of young scholars. Over the past two decades, the Summer School has provided advanced instruction to more than 4,000 young scholars and graduate students worldwide.

The Summer School is a collaborative effort by the following prestigious institutions:

• School of Economics and Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

• Center for Forecasting Science, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences

• Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics, Xiamen University

• Institute for Advanced Economic Research, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics

The program is primarily aimed at young faculty members and Ph.D. students in related fields. Lectures will be held in person.

All lectures will be conducted in English. The topics covered will include, but are not limited to, time series econometrics, panel data analysis, machine learning, and causal inference. In addition to the lectures, we will organize a workshop where a selected group of students can present their research in English.

Registration Fee and Living Cost

There is no registration fee for the Summer School. Participants are responsible for their own living expenses, including travel, accommodation, and meals, during the event.
